Ingredients:
- 500g ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese (or your favourite cheese)
- 4 hamburger buns
Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, additional cheese slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise
Instructions:
Prepare the Patties:
- In a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef.
- Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder over the meat.
- Drizzle the Worcestershire sauce over the meat.
- Add the grated cheddar cheese to the meat mixture.
- Gently mix the seasonings, sauce, and cheese into the meat. Be careful not to overwork the mixture.
Shape the Cheesy Patties:
- Divide the seasoned meat and cheese mixture into 4 equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a round patty, about 2cm thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent excessive puffing during cooking.
Preheat the Grill or Skillet:
Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Ensure the cooking surface is clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
Cook the Cheesy Patties:
- Place the patties onto the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on the first side, or until juices begin to form on the top surface.
- Flip the patties with a spatula and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side. Adjust cooking time based on your preferred level of doneness.
- If desired, place a cheese slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese.
Assemble the Cheesy Burgers:
Add your choice of toppings, such as lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, additional cheese slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.
Serve and Enjoy:
Serve the cheesy homemade burger patties immediately, while they are still warm and gooey.
